There’s one thing all “super” affiliate have in common…
They all work on building instant brand and name recognition because the more brand awareness you have the faster you acquire new customers.
It works very simply, the more you see or hear a product or a persons name mentioned the more likely you are to give them a chance.
As an affiliate your brand is something you use to develop trust and recognition, this is where the importance of setting up redirects comes in to play.
Here’s a classic example of applying your brand through the use of an affiliate link redirect.
By now you’ve probably registered a domain name for yourself.
To create a redirect link for each of your affiliate items/programs that you have signed up for, this is what you want to do…
Instead of http://nanacast.com/h/14670/ (as an example) in all your promotions you use the link:
http://SuccessOnTheFly.com/with/nanacast.html
This now brands your website wherever people see this link, which could be in the emails you send to your list, the articles you write or the forum posts you make.
Can you see the power behind this idea?
The other advantage to this is if ever you decide to change the product you’re promoting there’s only 1 link to change and that’s the file (that you make) that makes the redirect work.

So how do you create these affiliate redirect links?
It’s ever so easy, provided you have an HTML editing program.
Because here’s all you need to do step-by-step…
Step 1: Download FREE Komposer (a simple Website creator/html editor) here at: http://www.kompozer.net/)
Install as directed.
Here’s what you do next.
Step 2: Make a new folder within Kompozer (I called mine “with”) in which to put all of your affiliate folders/links inside.
Then, just make a “new page” with the appropriate file extension: either a .php, .html or .htm for each program/website you want to advertise within the “with” folder (you can name your folder anything you want, such as “go”, “recommends”, etc.)
I like to do this because the URL will be easy to remember and where I know all my affiliate links are…
Example: http://SuccessOnTheFly.com/with/nanacast.html
Or it could be: http://SuccessOnTheFly.com/with/nanacast
Your call!
To do this you need to do the following…
Step 3: Open up a “new” page in your html editor (in this case Kompozer). And click on the “source” /”>canadian propecia tab (bottom left on the screen). This will be an .html file in your HTML editing program, the code you’ll see should look something like this…
Now, pay close attention (See below!)
To make your “redirect” work and to be able to track as well, just “copy and paste” the html code below over the html above (in your html editor)…
Now, the affiliate link they generated for you, Example: http://nanacast.com/h/14670/
or even a Clickbank link like http://clickbank.com/go/yourclickbandname

Do the same thing at the img src = (put your affiliate link between the “and “signs – See below)
For the following you will need an FTP program. I like FREE Filzilla. It can be downloaded at:
http://filezilla-project.org/ )
Step 4: Now, with your FTP program, create a directory folder within your hosting account for each of the products you’re promoting as an affiliate. (You can name your
folder anything you want, such as “with”, “go”, “recommends”, etc.)
Step 5: When completed, FTP your affiliate “redirect” file named as nanacast or nanacast.html depending on how your wish (that you created in Kompozer) up to your “with” folder on your server.
Step 6: Keep a record of all your affiliate links and redirects so you can easy grab them whenever you need them.
Now, whenever someone clicks on your disguised link –
Example: (http://www.yoursite.com/with/nanacast.html), they are going to be redirected to your real referral Credit union location Maine Falmouth Cumberland County Federal Credit Union link… and you have your first sale!
Note: Don’t change the .html or .php extension at the end of the file name you created otherwise it will not work, it must be .html or .php. You can change the file
name but not the extension.
That’s all there is to it!

As a side note: if you are promoting a product or service that does not have an affiliate program attached to it you will still want to make a URL that is visible, memorable and “trackable”.
